Why we use aluminum for the battery case design in Boardup-E
Over time. we heard a lot of complaining online in e-skateboarder community that the plastic battery case is prone to scratch or even safety issue. because it is under the deck and may hit the bumper unless like boosted board which has battery box very close to the wheels.
We use an aluminum alloy to make the BoardUp-E battery case, it is actually not that heavy. It weighs about 1lbs. and more importantly, because of the good heat conducting of aluminum. BoardUp-E will never have overheat issue which may slow down the motor unexpectedly in some situations.
And because of that, our battery case is the most compact design in the world which holds 20 18650 Samsung batteries inside together with ESD board.

I had youtube channel Braille Skateboarding Aaron Kyro’s team to review on BoardUp 3.1 to see if they like the new design. To my surprise, his team member did this amazing stunt. Thought you might be interested.
V3.1 user survey feedback
So far, we have shipped out 42pcs V3.1. and sent out a short survey. The feedback is very positive. People are satisfied with V3.1 deck rigidness. The middle hinge is much more hard to touch the ground as the result of improvement deck and hinge. Also they are happy with the folding/unfolding getting more easier. That is very good. We feel much safe to mass produce more.
