We have received feedback about BoardUp deck being too flexible so that sometimes it touches ground too easily. So we have made following improvement on our V3.1 BoardUp which is just released. and shipped 30pcs to customers for more testing. Feedback are very positive.
Deck is slightly thicker and stronger.
A special strong manganese steel sheet is inserted between Hinge and deck to provide much stronger support. yet it is still light.
Locking and unlocking are easier then V3.
The locking cable adjustment is much easier to adjust in case it is getting loose over the time.
Sorry for not finding this issue in our V3 release. But we believe the V3.1 is much better.
Starting June 2nd, we begin the search for avid longboarders to ride BoardUp and represent the company. In a nutshell, our desire is to build a dream team of riders to help get the BoardUp name out to the world. There are three aspects that BoardUp hopes to capitalize on from this program; credible riders repping the brand name, increasing the BoardUp reach in the longboarding culture, and to get more people stoked about the product.
Since BoardUp is still a small startup company, we want to increase in numbers and add to the family. More specifically, we’re looking to sponsor riders who will really experience the product. Our ideal ambassador ranges from anyone who commutes to school or someone who slides and wants to try a new board down the hill. Through our ambassadors will see the application for BoardUp in their own lives and want to give it a run. BoardUp Ambassadors are going to be the living blood of the company as they live the product.
This program offers a BoardUp Longboard to selected applicants and the opportunity to earn 15% commission on any online sales they provide with a customized link. We’re also looking to treat our riders to free gear along with giveaways for their social media pages to help spread the stoke. Check out the details and sign up HERE.
We started shipping BoardUp version 20 days ago. excited to know that customers are satisfied. Here are two feedback from them.
First Impressions of version 3 BoardUp: Pro: – Overall the new Longboard is a lot smoother than version 2. – Making tight turns is easier now because the middle is higher from the ground. – The new kick pad works fantastic. – The new handle is a lot more comfortable and is far more stable.
Contra: – There are sharp edges at the bottom of the wooden part of the handle (where the metal part goes in). Only a minor problem but I would round off these edges ( We have fixed this issue by changing the injection mold)
————————————————– The Board did arrive yesterday and it looks great! Sadly there was Rain so I couldn’t try it out right. But I’ve been testing it at a few dry places and it’s real fun. It has the perfect length for pumping and people are talking to me on the street because of your awesome design! Hopefully you’ll get some more customers through me 😉 Keep up the great work. ———————————- Thank you Alex and Wolfgang
Here is the list of what has been improved in Version 3:
Bearings are in higher quality. can run quite longer.
Wheel material improved. it is high re-bounce resilience, Together with better bearings. BoardUp is now can run 40-60% longer with one kick.
Deck is slightly improved. stronger for later batch. supports wheel size 70mm, 75mm, 80mm,81mm,( width < 53mm)
Riser pad is 2mm thicker. Now it is 4mm
The truck is 4mm taller. and the kingpin is less tilt. so it can support sharper turn. Also the truck looks better then V2.
The Middle hinge has both edges cut. Together with now the deck being 6mm higher. It is much less likely to touch the ground when making sharp turn unless it is next to the road high bump.
Improved middle hinge makes locking more precise and tight. no wobble, won’t feel small gap between the locked two piece of hinge.
Re-designed the kickpad, so that user can replace both truck with his/her favorite ones. and cable won’t snap no matter how big the kick force applied.
Kicking and folding is easier. as the deck opening on the nose for kickpad is 6mm wider.
Changed the way to adjust the cable tension. It is easier now. just turn the nut linked with cable end under the kickpad
Longboarding is a great way to commute from one place to another. It’s been around many years and has evolved in many ways. In recent years, many board manufacturers have made attempts to slap a battery and tiny motor on the bottom of their boards for an electronic motorized skate/long board. BoardUp® is now adding themselves to the list. (more…)

Is a longboard for you? We think so! Longboards as a whole are made with the intension of getting from point A to point B with ease. In comparison to regular skateboards, longboards have much softer wheels and a longer wheel base in separation which provides the ultimate cruising experience. (more…)
Wheel bearings are one of the most important component to any moving vehicle. They serve as the mounting mechanism for wheels and enable wheels to spin free while attached to the board. With that, it is always good to check your bearings for debris, excess grease, or even rust from riding in the rain. Here’s a workflow you can use to clean and maintain your bearings in order to keep them in tip top shape: (more…)
